Information Technology vs Movie Watching Culture
A research report that argues how information technology has shaped movie watching culture to be a more solitary activity. This research required thorough analyses of journal articles that proved my thesis or argued against it.
What does the future of movie watching look like?

That was the question I pondered while researching the impact of
information technology on movie watching culture. As technology
improves we can see how it has evolved the way we watch movies,
for instance:
-
Operas to drive in theaters
-
Drive in theaters to multiplex cinemas
-
Multiplex cinemas to streaming films at home

This led to the thesis that cinemas will slowly become obsolete as more
and more people will begin choosing streaming at home over going out.
There are many reasons why I was led to this belief, such as:
-
It is more cost efficient
-
It is more comfortable
-
At-home theater technology is now on par, if not better, than many
-
cinemas

Do you also see the future looking like this? When was the last time you
went to the theater to see a movie? Do you wait for new releases to
come to streaming platforms? I am interested to know!
